Position Overview: Special Security Office (SSO) Analyst

Location: Ramstein SB, Germany

Organization: Leidos National Security Sector

Supported Mission: U.S. Space Forces Europe & Africa (SPACEFOREUR-AF).

Leidos is seeking a highly qualified Special Security Office (SSO) Analyst to support the SPACEFOREUR-AF Target Intelligence mission. This role is part of a major Military Intelligence Program aligned with the U.S. Space Force (USSF), providing critical support to geographically dispersed units across Europe and Africa.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess deep operational knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD), Security Executive Agent, and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) related to TS/SCI security protocols and SSO operations. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Personnel Security (PERSEC): Manage a robust PERSEC program ensuring all personnel meet clearance, authorization, and need-to-know requirements.
  • Security Program Compliance: Evaluate organizational security policies and procedures for adherence to personnel, physical, TEMPEST, and industrial security standards.
  • Facility Access & SOP Development: Define access control procedures, develop and manage security training programs, and coordinate Security Operation Plans (SOPs) for personnel, equipment, and operational movements.
  • Facility Accreditation: Prepare and review Fixed Facility Checklists and actively support TS/SCI Facility Security Accreditation processes.
  • Site Surveys & Technology Compliance: Conduct site security assessments and verify compliance of security technologies (e.g., IDS, access control, secure communications) prior to SCIF accreditation.
  • SCIF Operations: Oversee the entry, exit, and destruction of equipment and materials within SCIF environments.
  • Threat Awareness & Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with OPSEC officers, OSI, and Intelligence Community partners to maintain threat awareness and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Security Assessments & Investigations: Participate in security-related investigations and assessments, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) reviews and impact analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 10+ years of SSO management experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Joint Access Database Environment (JADE)
  • Must be eligible for TS/SCI indoctrination on the first day of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent (within 5 years) access to Special Access Program (SAP), Controlled Access Program (CAP), or Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) information

Pay Range:

Pay Range $80,600.00 - $145,700.00
