POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President of CTI, the Sales Manager – Terminals develops and implements sales and new business development plans for targeted end markets. This includes fostering & expanding existing customer relationships, development of new end markets for organic growth and the identification of potentially transformative opportunities for inorganic growth. The successful candidate will foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the sales organization’s efficient operation and success. The Sales Manager will effectively coordinate with end customers, the customer account team, engineering, credit, finance and operations to ensure Colonial Group maximizes the opportunity to win each new business opportunity, and successfully executes deliveries, invoicing, and collection. The Sales Manager must be able to manage new and existing business opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle from identification through deal closing. The Sales Manager (as a key member of a small commercial team) will be responsible for delivering retention & renewal of existing business as well as expansion of new business to deliver the annual operating targets for volume, revenue and profitability. They will be similarly responsible for development of commercial tools and processes to support the team’s long-term success in developing new business including market mapping, customer segmentation and documentation of current terminal capabilities.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

  • Maintain, foster and grow existing customer relationships through identification and relationship management of key stakeholders.
  • Identify, develop and execute on sales opportunities to expand existing service and/or terminal volume expansion with existing customer base.
  • Develop, prioritize and implement end market plans to drive organic growth with new customers.
  • Manage an effective pipeline of sales and new business development opportunities providing forward visibility for margin improvement and revenue growth.
  • Generate profitable growth through development of organic projects working with existing terminal network and asset strategies. This includes project identification, project development, financial modelling, project approval and customer relationship management through the lifecycle of the project.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams through the project life cycle to ensure effective execution of customer growth projects.
  • Develop sales and business development tools as part of broader commercial organization to enable a more systematic approach to project execution and growth opportunity management.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of multifunctional experience in the terminal or related (chemical processing, chemical trading, agricultural processing, agricultural trading, commodity trading) industries
  • Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or Business degree preferred.
  • Strong business and sales acumen required.
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced market-facing environment.
  • Outstanding communication (oral, writing and presentation skills).
  • Demonstrated ability to work well across multiple teams and work styles in a corporate environment.
  • Strong Excel Skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI.
  • Database and Customer Relationship Management software experience preferred
  • Analytical strengths using Key Performance Indicators, ROI, Process improvement, utilization, trends, etc.
