The Senior Project Manager is the lead for all deliverables on a large hospital project. This position is responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of the project team, appropriate communications with the client, management and control of the scope, cost, and schedule objectives for the project(s) as a whole.

The Senior Project Manager will spearhead all aspects pertaining to the hospital's medical equipment, including planning, procurement, implementation and testing. This is a great opportunity to expand your healthcare project portfolio. Come join our team!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities, the Manager of Refurbishment works with the Engineering department to maintain, upgrade, and remodel patient and procedure rooms, as well as exterior, staff, and public areas
  • This position oversees small and large-scale construction projects related to capital equipment, tenant improvements, and departmental requests
  • The manager is responsible for coordinating and executing department relocations across the facility and managing the testing and maintenance of systems and equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Facilities Maintenance & Project Management: Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Facilities to maintain and implement the health system’s refurbishment and maintenance programs
  • Manages work orders, projects, and departmental budgets, surveys campus conditions, and proposes project budgets for design and refurbishment, prioritizing projects to minimize operational disruptions
  • Inspection & Compliance: Inspects work performed by staff and contractors to ensure compliance with infection prevention requirements, standards, codes, and regulations
  • Coordinates with facilities staff to address all facility needs and interfaces with medical center staff to ensure satisfaction with completed requests
  • Work Order and Staff Management: Receives, evaluates, prioritizes, and assigns refurbishment work orders
  • Directs staff in safety-related tasks, conducts regular meetings, and updates the work order system with current status and notes
  • Vendor and Material Management: Communicates with vendors, manages material storage, inventory, and usage to minimize waste
  • Policy Development & Regulatory Compliance: Assists in developing and updating department policies to meet regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and other agencies
  • Project Planning & Oversight: Investigates project requests, documents scope, develops cost-effective plans, and coordinates with design professionals for permits
  • Oversees project execution and ensures compliance with approved plans and safety standards
  • Coordination & Budget Management: Coordinates with IORs and officials to ensure work conforms to plans, manages procurement requests, change orders, and invoicing, and monitors project budgets versus expenditures
  • Capital Equipment & Relocation Support: Reviews upcoming equipment requests, evaluates facilities modifications, and develops project timelines and budgets
  • Supports relocations by coordinating with relevant departments and external agencies

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Manage and monitor team members' activity in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Delegate providing clear instructions and ongoing feedback.
  • Monitor metrics and course correct as necessary while holding self and others accountable.
  • Provide feedback to senior leaders and clearly communicate organizational direction to team members.
  • Build relationships with key internal resources (peers, direct reports, & senior leaders).
  • Create development opportunities and plan for direct reports and teams; provide ongoing feedback.
  • Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in independently managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.
  • Ability to distinguish between cause and effect of problems.
  • Actively listen and communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field

Experience: 10+ years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management, and 5+ years of experience in medical equipment projects

Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED

The salary range for this full-time role is $127,300.00-$178,233.36 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
