Job Description

*This position will work full-time in-office at HQ*

The Special Assets Technical Analyst is responsible for effectively overseeing departmental operations, vendors, reporting, and working closely with department leaders to maintain overall compliance and workforce planning. This position also provides data analytics and uncovers insights providing the ability to make thoughtful recommendations using reliable data to the Special Assets Manager.

Core Job Requirements/Outcomes

  • Maintain effective and efficient department operations by regularly reviewing and updating procedures and processes, recommending new tools, leading projects, and reviewing collection calls for adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Manage forecasted queue and process volumes by creating short and long term tactical and strategic plans based on experience. Assist in creating reliable reporting and maintain workforce management. Act as a system administrator to uphold the framework of collection queue management.
  • Provide compliance input and support for the Special Assets and FRS teams by recommending changes to polices and implementing controls and safeguards to minimize risk exposure. Provide audit support for internal processes and assist with new resolution tasks.
  • Monitor performance of third-party service providers to ensure quality and service levels are maintained by performing audits and assessing and responding as appropriate to reported issues.

  • Serve as a collection analyst and perform competitive research to support various projects, product and service recommendations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Lead by example by aligning actions with shared values.
  • Participate in the planning, execution and implementation of business plan objectives and departmental projects.
  • Provide exceptional member service by maintaining positive, professional relationships with members while discussing sensitive, personal financial circumstances, in a straightforward and tactful manner.
  • Foster positive relationships with a cohesive environment, contributing to the overall teams success.


Qualifications

    Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

    Job Experience: Minimum five years of proven experience in system administration, information systems, work force planning, data analytics and/or special assets management or related experience required. A strong understanding of legal processes related to special assets, proficiency in performance reporting, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of compliance requirements in the financial sector are required. Experience with system operations, including testing and upgrades, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required.

    Software Skills: Certification in a related field preferred. Experience with STCUs core system, lending and collection platforms preferred.  Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and software, strong project management skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

    Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
