Overview

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will participate with creating business intelligence dashboards and reports while creating data models in our modernize data platform. You will be responsible for building and optimizing data models using Python, PySpark and SQL, and migrating and/or developing BI dashboard and reporting solutions that drive insights and support strategic data-driven decision-making. This position requires a robust combination of technical expertise (Python, PySpark, SQL), data modeling skills, and an understanding of data visualization best practices. You will interface with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable data products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to codify KPIs/metrics into scalable data models and automate their measurement.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for transformations and Power BI semantic models.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to align data solutions with business goals.
  • Design, develop, and optimize medallion architecture and Delta Lake using PySpark, Python, and SQL.
  • Build and maintain semantic layers optimized for self-service analytics, BI tools, and Data Science.
  • Develop, and maintain high-performance semantic models with efficient DAX, relationships, and star schemas.
  • Create interactive, user-centric dashboards that translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Optimize Power BI performance: Tune DAX, leverage Aggregations, manage DirectQuery/Import modes, and implement Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Migrate legacy reports.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards: Metadata documentation (Unity Catalog), lineage, naming conventions, and security.
  • Mentor analysts on engineering best practices: Git, testing, modular code (PySpark/SQL), and efficient dashboard and reporting development.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, dashboards, and processes.


Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or a total of 9 years of applicable professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • MUST BE US CITIZEN for government clearance/contract requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with data querying and manipulation.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with databases.
  • Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView) is a plus.
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to develop and maintain ETL pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and integrity for front-end reporting in Tableau.

Qualifications



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tableau certification (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional).
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
