Lead Patient Experience Specialist



Job Summary

Oversees check-in and check-out of patients, collection of co-pays and payments on account, all insurance verifications, and scheduling of patient appointments. Supervises team and serves as primary contact for patient and provider issues or complaints. Performs timely evaluation of third-party coverage and resource options for complex cases. Assesses front desk and financial counseling processes to improve quality and efficiency. Performs administrative duties and attends treatment plan briefings.


Essential Functions

Leads a team of Patient Experience Specialists responsible for scheduling patient appointments, managing chart audits and the collection of patient payments; becomes a resource for PES staff in regards to use of the Electronic Health Record, patient scheduling, financial counseling procedures, checking and preauthorizing patient insurance and all other front office tasks; provides PES back-up during staffing shortages, including being temporarily assigned a Team of students to manage; manages patient and student concerns; supports students and faculty with chair utilization and adherence to policies and procedures and trainings; leads module meetings.

This position requires the ability to move around the School and Clinic areas.
