Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have adesire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs andbackgrounds.

The Grant Director for the EEC Career Pathways Grant is alimited term grant-funded position responsible for overseeing the operationalaspects of the grant and its various projects. The goal of the grant is toidentify and holistically address the needs of the early childhood educationworkforce from enrollment to successful college completion by tracking studentprogress, tailoring course offerings, and implementing retention strategies tosupport student success. The Grant Director will work with college personnel invarious college offices, convening a Career Pathways Team to plan and trackservices that align with the Department of Early Education and Care's strategicpriorities and requirements. The Director will also be the primary contact andwork collaboratively with EEC, the workforce and employers. Although the grantterm ends on June 30, 2026, it is subject to renewal.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee and facilitate all grant activity in partnership with identified Cross-departmental Career Pathways (CP) Team, institution, community at large, and EEC;
  • In collaboration with regional partners, keep the workforce updated about the launch and implementation of EEC’s new credential and serve as a resource for educators seeking the higher education pathway;
  • Recruit students through outreach activities and community partnerships using a variety of strategies including information sessions;
  • Track the progress of students starting at intake to generate ECE student caseload;
  • Manage retention strategies for students, including but not limited to academic advising, tutoring or mentoring;
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and ECE workforce and employers;
  • Serve as the primary liaison between MassBay and EEC;
  • Attend all relevant EEC meetings and trainings:

-Meetings and trainings related to the new workforce credential;

-Meetings, as requested and scheduled with any vendors contracted by EEC to collect data or support grant operations;

-Other meetings as requested by EEC;

  • Ensure all grant-funded programming meets grant requirements and reporting obligations;
  • Manage grant budget to ensure sure full expenditure and accurate accounting of Career Pathways budget;
  • Supervise the Assistant Coordinator;
  • Oversee submission of the grant reports, including budget amendments and annual reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field;
  • 5 years of experience in the Early Childhood field;
  • Experience with planning and implementation of grant initiatives;
  • Knowledge of community college academic programs, services and culture;
  • Thorough working knowledge of the Department of Early Education and Care's regulations pertaining to staff and the Department’s priorities and directives;
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse, multicultural, and non-traditional students;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills;
  • Efficient, detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and work well with a minimum of supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to travel within the state for meetings;
  • Computer skills, including the use of Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
  • Graduate degree in Early Childhood Education;
  • Demonstrated professional growth with progressive scope of role and responsibility;
  • Experience working in a public university, college, or community college;
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and supervising unit personnel.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $76,000.00 - 87,000.00 Annual Salary
