Function of Position:
The Assistant Director of Student Accounts reports directly to the Director of Student Accounts. This is a professional position involving responsibility for all phases of student accounts reporting and receiving analysis. Supervision is exercised over employees in Student Accounts.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

- Maintain technological competencies utilized by the College
- Maintain the integrity of student accounts receivable records
- Ensure internal controls are strictly adhered to
- Supervise posting of financial data, reconciliation of accounts, and collection of payments; authorize correcting entries as appropriate
- Schedule work and set work priorities to ensure adherence to deadlines
- Reassign staff in response to workload to maintain equitable work distribution
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Approve payment vouchers
- Participate in the annual fiscal audit by supplying supporting documentation
- Coordinate and schedule student billing
- Investigate and resolve student account problems/complaints
- Act on behalf of the Director in his/her absence
- Review the general ledger reconciliation prepared by the support staff
- Serve as a member of the Controller's Committee in the review, development, and implementation of ideas, procedures, and goals related to the Controller's Operation
- Assist the Director in the preparation of the annual departmental budget
- Work closely with IT staff in matters related to the Banner database and any other peripheral system associated with student accounts
- Act as a liaison between the College and outside parties regarding contracts and billing matters
- Supervise assignment of delinquent accounts for collection
- Monitor bank services and report problems as appropriate
- Coordinate the timing and implementation of the reclassification for non-resident tuition
- Serve as the Student Accounts Office liaison for Academies
- Administer the drop for non-payment program under the supervision of the Director
- Oversee the electric refund program and third-party payment program
- Reconcile and prepare payments for the college's auxiliary service for payment of charges collected by the college on their behalf
- Ensure student accounts have been updated with Title IV authorization
- Review and identify fee assessment errors, process necessary adjustments
- Facilitate Tuition Refund Appeal process
- Coordinate cross-training efforts for Student Accounts Office employees with other Student Service offices
- Supervise Student Accounts Office staff
- Oversee the dual enrollment third-party payment/scholarship program
- Serve on various committees as assigned by the Director
- Perform various other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:Required Qualifications:
- Earned a bachelor's degree in business or a related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- Three years of progressively responsible management experience in business operations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Higher Education
- Experience using Banner software
- Experience in managing a Student Accounts Office
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a starting salary of $65,000 and may increase depending on the mentioned factors.
