Parent Engagement Coordinator



The Office of Child Development (OCD) Early Head Start (EHS) program is seeking an experienced, creative, and versatile professional capable of a variety of recruiting, relationship building, family engagement, and compliance tasks. This employee will recruit participant families to the EHS Program, maintain enrollment and a waiting list for all assigned EHS sites, support program sites in parent engagement, and ensure adequate parent representation on EHS governance groups including working with program staff across EHS sites.

Recruitment of families for enrollment in the Early Head Start program. The incumbent will identify underenrolled program sites and communicate identified sites regarding openings, number of families on the list, and strategies for recruitment. They will assist families with enrollment and collaborate with outside agencies in recruiting families to the program.

Supporting to parents of enrolled families as they participate in site activities: The incumbent will assist parents as they engage in all aspects of the entire program (for example, they may arrange transportation for parents; call them ahead of scheduled meetings, etc). The incumbent will prepare for and facilitate all parent meetings and recruit parents to attend and serve on EHS Program Governance meetings.

Program Site Support: The incumbent will seek opportunities to interact with assigned program site teams to build rapport and strengthen their position as a valued team member. They will support sites in building connections and relationships with the enrolled families through implementation of the family support/family strengths model. The incumbent will promote EHS community collaboration by participating in community meetings and events. Lastly, they will create a family referral system by maintaining and building relationships in the community that connect EHS to professionals and agencies.

Assists in set up and coordination of trainers externally. Coordinates events, including logistics, materials, and location. Attends and promotes University programs at community events. Interacts and builds partnerships with local community organizations, groups, and local businesses. Performs promotional-related tasks.
