Core4ce
Solution Architect
913-383
We’re hiring a seasoned, out-of-the-box solutions architect capable of marrying advanced AI/ML with real business impact, especially as it relates to proposal solutioning for the Federal Health, Defense, and National Security Mission sectors. You’ll shape win themes, craft technical approaches, prototype solution options quickly, and translate complex AI into plain-English value for executives and evaluators. If you can read an SOO/PWS like a product spec, turn it into a compelling solution, and show it live within days—not months—you’ll thrive here.
Focus split: 55% Proposal Engineering & Orals; 25% Rapid Prototyping & Demos; 20% customer engagement, thought leadership, and internal enablement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical solutioning for RFI/RFQ/RFPs (SOO/PWS/SOW), aligning with evaluation factors and Section L/M requirements.
- Convert problem statements into clear architectures, CONOPS, and executable roadmaps; define win themes, discriminators, and value propositions.
- Produce high-quality narratives, diagrams, and orals content; rehearse and deliver persuasive technical briefings and demos.
- Ensure compliance and credibility: OCI statements, data handling, Responsible AI, privacy, IL4/IL5/IL6 constraints, RMF/ATO pathways, Zero Trust alignment.
- Partner with BD/PM/SME leads to shape teaming, staffing, and basis-of-estimates that match the solution’s technical reality
- Build “thin-slice” MVPs to de-risk proposals: RAG pipelines, embeddings/ANN search, knowledge graphs, agentic workflows, data labeling, OCR/ETL.
- Stand up demonstrators using Python and a pragmatic stack (e.g., Azure OpenAI, FAISS/Weaviate, Flask/FastAPI, React/TypeScript).
- Prove feasibility with small but meaningful datasets. Establish guardrails: prompt engineering patterns, eval frameworks, traceability, factuality checks, and defense-ready auditability.
- Author reference architectures and patterns for: RAG, vector search, agentic systems, knowledge graphs, and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with security/IT for ATO posture, FedRAMP controls, and data residency, document export controls and data minimization strategies.
- Mentor engineers and proposal writers on AI/ML best practices and storytelling.
- Contribute to the innovation pipeline, reusable components, bid toolkits, and demo playbooks.
- Publish internal briefs/POVs on trends (e.g., agentic AI, retrieval quality, governance) tied to customer outcomes.
Requirements:
- US Person required; ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance preferred.
- 8–12+ years in AI/ML, data science, solutions architecture, or adjacent roles, with 5+ years directly supporting federal proposal solutioning.
- Demonstrated wins where you owned the technical approach and the narrative (samples/portfolio strongly preferred).
- Hands-on with:
- Azure OpenAI (chat/completions, embeddings, JSON mode), prompt engineering, RAG patterns
- Embeddings & ANN (FAISS and/or Weaviate)
- Python (data/ML tooling, micro-APIs with Flask/FastAPI)
- Vectors + retrieval (hybrid search, reranking, guardrails/evals)
- Graphs or schema-first data modeling
- Comfortable translating between exec, mission, and engineering audiences; excellent writing and orals presence.
- Familiar with DoD environmental constraints, CUI handling, RMF/ATO basics, and Responsible AI principles.
- Hybrid; limited travel for orals, demos, and key customer meetings.
What to Expect in Your First Year:
First 30–60 Days
- Lead a color-team-ready technical approach and deliver a thin-slice demo that reinforces your narrative.
- Begin building a reusable proposal toolkit including prompts, evaluation scripts, diagrams, and boilerplate content.
By 90–120 Days
- Act as the primary technical lead on a major bid, delivering a compelling orals demo with clear, measurable discriminators.
- Cut proposal cycle time by ?20% on AI-centric bids through reusable templates and prototypes.
Within 6–12 Months
- Directly influence ?$X in qualified pipeline and contribute to ?Y wins where your solution is a named discriminator.
- Develop 2–3 reusable solution accelerators (e.g., RAG stack, evaluation harness, vector/graph starter kits).
Example Work Products
- Technical approaches aligned with Sections L/M
- Compliance matrices, architecture diagrams, demo scripts
- Orals slide decks, MVP repositories (with README and runbook)
- Responsible AI/traceability annexes, data handling plans, OCI statements
