Position Summary:

The Quality Technician II is responsible for developing, documenting and maintaining quality specifications for products, materials, equipment and process controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts regular inspections of components and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Handles inbound, in process and outbound inspection requirements for Distribution, Light Assembly, Manufacturing Services, Engineered Systems, and Industrial Automation.
  • Documents, files and summarizes non-conforming material and investigates open NCR’s.
  • Researches and prepares Certificate of Compliance Certificates (COC) which requires identification of purchase order requirements, reviews, verifies, and documents all necessary information as required.
  • Manages Calibration equipment and program to ensure all measuring devices are properly calibrated.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of quality assurance programs that support overall business objectives.
  • Completes First Article Inspections (FAI), and documents as required.
  • Documents, files, summarizes and reports back to customer with completed report.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good math and mechanical skills.
  • Skills to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency required to perform proper inspection documentation.
  • Strong blueprint and specification reading skills.
  • Demonstrated adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, go/no go gauges, height and depth gages, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role desired.
  • Mechanical experience and aptitude desired.

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • None specifically associated with this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Both office and manufacturing environment.
  • Travel to other RG Group locations or to customer locations as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
