Description:

Job Summary:

This role provides analysis, testing, and quality monitoring support for large-scale data migration and syndication activities tied to VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiative. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL and analytical skills with experience in data validation, source-to-target verification, and healthcare data interpretation.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and validate clinical and operational data across source and target systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with VA data standards.
  • Execute and enhance existing data quality routines for cutover extracts, mirrored systems, and data syndication models.
  • Develop and run complex SQL queries to support data profiling, data reconciliation, and defect analysis.
  • Document anomalies, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers and stakeholders to resolve data integrity issues.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support go-live readiness assessments, cutover validations, and data mapping reviews.
  • Support the development of test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices related to healthcare data migration and data quality checks.
  • Track and report quality metrics, validation outcomes, and data reconciliation status to leadership and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, validation documentation, and user guides.
  • Assist with dashboard/report creation in support of conversion tracking and enterprise data quality monitoring.
  • Work closely with integration, data engineering, and application teams to validate changes and maintain continuity in system behavior.

Skills and Experience:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship, U.S. residency, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field OR 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst or Quality Analyst in a data-intensive environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or IRIS.
  • Experience with data validation, data profiling, and reconciliation in healthcare or enterprise data systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with testing lifecycle activities and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to manage issues and document validation outcomes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting VA healthcare data systems or EHR modernization efforts.
  • Familiarity with VX130, IRIS mirrored environments, DAWA, or cutover extract validation workflows.
  • Exposure to healthcare data standards and formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED CT).
  • Experience validating data in mirrored and hybrid cloud/on-premise systems.
  • Agile, SAFe, or data governance certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to travel, as needed.
  • Office computers and equipment, telephones, radios, Microsoft Office suite of tools, Web Based Applications, electronic spreadsheets and database analysis, outputs, and reporting, virtual data sharing platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and other forms of remote work-sharing tools.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability up to lift 25lbs on occasion, stretching, climbing stairs, and walking.
  • Must have personal computer with reliable Internet service.
