Job Description

ProSource360 is seeking an Epidemiologist to support the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, Ohio. The Epidemiologist will lead and conduct epidemiological and statistical analyses, focusing on health surveillance data, medical records, operational records, and military personnel data. This role involves supporting human performance and operational surveillance, program evaluation, and development of statistical models to inform decision-making for the U.S. Air Force.

Responsibilities

  • Design, formulate, conduct, and lead epidemiological and statistical analysis of health, operational, and personnel data across individual, unit, and force-wide populations.
  • Provide program evaluation and analysis of initiatives related to human performance, readiness, and operational effectiveness.
  • Retrieve, integrate, and manage health, deployment, surveillance, and other military-related data into usable formats.
  • Perform statistical analyses, build datasets, and develop theoretically driven models to explore relationships between variables and outcomes.
  • Conduct validation and verification of statistical models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Draft reports, technical documents, and presentations; prepare publications for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present findings through briefings, technical reports, and professional conferences.
  • Establish relationships between datasets, map data elements, define storage architecture, and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary.
  • Serve as an expert in health statistics in interdisciplinary planning and analysis.
  • Support knowledge transfer by documenting code, preparing reports, and briefing findings for USAFSAM and Air Force leadership.
  • Demonstrate or acquire familiarity with Air Force medical, personnel, and operational record systems.
  • Collect data from authorized databases and ensure compliance with data access permissions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex analytical challenges and provide innovative approaches to data analysis.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health statistics.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including visual analytics for population health and surveillance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to design and lead operational studies on health and military data.
  • Strong skills in statistical modeling, epidemiological methods, and risk reduction analysis.
  • HIPAA training compliance to access and process identified medical data.
  • Capacity to learn and apply new analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Python, R, SAS Viya, Qualtrics).

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Public Health.
  • Experience working with U.S. Air Force data or in a health analytics-related field.
