Operational Analyst Range and Training Area Management (RTAM)
Quantico, VA
The Operational Analyst reports to and receives work direction from the Project Manager. The Operational Analyst will provide support that includes the following activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and manage strategic plans to align with training standards, mission goals, and system sustainability
  • Provide expert recommendations for infrastructure improvements, technology integration, and environmental compliance
  • Generate reports, briefings, and presentations for Service Level leadership, highlighting operational trends and proposed solutions
  • Conduct data analysis to optimize the utilization, management, and enhancement of Marine Corps training systems
  • Support the integration of new technologies and systems to enhance range operations and overall training capabilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Range and Training Area Management (RTAM) Branch, to ensure an effective range operations and resource allocation
  • Prepare and present official correspondence for Service or Joint initiatives, policy issues, and senior DoD leadership
  • Provide support for Portfolio Management including research, certification, and approval processes
  • Execute daily operational and strategic tasks, supporting executive-level committees and resolving governance-related conflicts within the organization
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) certification/training required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Expertise in service-level operations and documentation within the Marine Corps, including staffing documents and policy development
  • Extensive experience managing classified information, including derivative classification requirements, original classification authority processes, and declassification procedures
  • Significant Department of Defense experience, with a strong background in Marine Corps operations, training systems, and TECOM-specific roles
  • Proven management in range and training area organization, with in-depth knowledge of and portfolio oversight
  • Strong project management skills, including stakeholder coordination, governance adjudication, and operational strategy execution.

  • Flexibility and the ability to take initiative, and be innovative to succeed in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, composing client deliverable quality documentation, analysis, and reports
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptionally detail oriented, organizational, planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work collaboratively with others
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Requires 10% - 15% travel
  • Extended workdays and weekend work may be required.
