Job Summary

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support Epiq's continued growth by executing cybersecurity initiatives that ensure compliance, resilience, and operational security across our engineering and manufacturing environments. This position will combine hands-on infrastructure security with the implementation of risk-based controls that align with CMMC, NIST, and other defense-focused compliance frameworks.

You will help drive a proactive security posture across our platforms, improve threat visibility and detection, and operationalize our security toolsets in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls aligned with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2+, and ITAR requirements
  • Develop and enforce security hardening standards for infrastructure, cloud services, and endpoint systems
  • Administer and optimize SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel) to enhance visibility, threat correlation, and incident response
  • Create and maintain actionable SIEM content: correlation rules, dashboards, reports, threat intelligence integrations, and alert tuning
  • Onboard and normalize log/data sources to enable detection across diverse environments (on-prem, cloud, production systems)
  • Support compliance audits, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring requirements for federal programs
  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Compliance teams to implement technical controls supporting DFARS and CUI data protection
  • Stay current on emerging security threats, tools, and tactics relevant to the defense and RF product landscape
  • Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and business continuity initiatives
  • Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on secure design and secure operations best practices

Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Strong knowledge of modern SIEM platforms and experience with content creation, health monitoring, and system optimization
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001/9001, ITAR, and DFARS security requirements
  • Hands-on experience with securing AWS, Azure, and/or hybrid cloud environments
  • Proficiency with operating systems, endpoint security controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning tools, and authentication systems
  • Strong understanding of threat vectors, common exploits, and security mitigations
  • Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) a plus
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a highly regulated, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, especially when interfacing with auditors, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders
  • U.S. citizenship required to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and export-controlled data (e.g., ITAR, EAR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CISSP, GCIH, CEH)
  • Experience supporting DoD or defense contractor environments
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures, enclave design, and DevSecOps models

Benefits

  • Join a successful and growing company investing in our future success
  • Flexible work hours
  • Generous vacation policy
  • Paid five-week sabbatical every five years
  • 401(k) matching
  • Health, dental, vision insurance
  • Life and long-term disability insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Wellness reimbursement
  • Charitable giving company match
  • Competitive total compensation package, including base salary, bonus potential, and strong benefits, commensurate with experience and performance.
