Position Summary
The Retirement Plan Senior Analyst is a member of the Finance department and plays a key role in the administration, analysis, and compliance of the organization’s 401(k) and ESOP plans. This position ensures plans are operated in accordance with plan documents and legal requirements, provides analytical support for plan design and financial wellness initiatives, and serves as a key liaison between employees, vendors, payroll and finance. The analyst serves as the subject matter expert on 401(k) systems (such as 401(k) plan administrators) and manages system integrations. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing data and providing recommendations to drive plan engagement and compliance. The role is an onsite position in the St. Louis corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
401(k) Administration and Oversight: Support daily operations related to contributions processing, ensuring timely and accurate payroll deductions, and reconciling data from various sources.
401(k) Loan Processing: Support and review 401(k) loan activities, ensuring compliance and managing the loan default process.
ESOP and 401(k) Plan Support and Education: Support annual ESOP statements, diversification processes, educating employees about plan features, and other items relating to participant experience.
ESOP and 401(k) Plan Analysis: Conduct analysis regarding plan health and employee engagement.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, SECURE 2.0 and other relevant laws.
Employee Support and Education: Answering employee questions, resolving issues related to 401(k) contributions, and educating employees about plan features.
Data Integrity and Security: Collaborate with IT, HRIS, payroll and third-party administrator to ensure accurate and secure data exchange. Audit and reconcile payroll data to identify discrepancies, correct errors and prevent compliance risks.
Audit Support: Support retirement compliance requirements, including annual ERISA plan audits, annual government disclosures/filings, Summary Plan Description, and non-discrimination testing.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying and recommending improvements to 401(k) plan processes and procedures.
Special Projects: May perform ad hoc duties as needed to support the Total Rewards team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
Ability to interpret complex data and identify solutions to problems.
Working knowledge of 401(k) plan design and administration, with overall understanding of payroll file interfaces
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
A minimum of 3 years of experience in retirement plan administration (e.g. 401(k), 403(b))
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
