Function of Position:

This position enables the Healthcare Program Staff to maintain the resources and maintenance required daily to provide the best patron experience and student support possible in the Healthcare Program Skills Labs.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

Laundry Management

  • Collect soiled laundry from hampers after each daily lab class.
  • Wash, dry, and fold laundry as needed, ensuring all items are clean and dry by the end of each shift.

Sanitation & Infection Control

  • Strip and disinfect all unoccupied beds on a weekly basis.
  • Replace linens on disinfected beds in accordance with infection control procedures.
  • Disinfect tray tables weekly or more frequently as needed to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks as directed to maintain a safe and sanitary lab environment.

Lab Readiness & Setup

  • Restock shelves daily with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure each lab is fully prepared and reset for the next class session.
  • Assist with lab setup and configuration for Prometric testing in accordance with testing protocols.

Supply & Equipment Handling

  • Retrieve and transport delivered supplies and equipment from the Healthcare office to the designated lab areas.
  • Organize and store supplies appropriately to ensure ease of access and proper inventory rotation.

Facility Maintenance

  • Check and maintain portable sinks in CNA labs, ensuring they are operational and adequately supplied (e.g., soap, water, paper towels).
  • Report maintenance needs or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, and healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Physical Demands of Position:

  • Moving about, reaching, pulling, and pushing while maintaining equipment; able to do repetitive tasks; remain stationary at a desk while typing.


Additional Information:

Salary: $20/hr.

Schedule: Up to 20 hrs./week

Working Conditions: Classroom and Skills Lab located on the Downtown Campus.
