The University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in river hydrology and sediment transport. The group's activities include fundamental studies of suspended sediment transport through the river and urban impacts on flash flooding. The project will include analyzing large datasets of river discharge and suspended sediment concentrations around the world and contributing to local urban hydrology projects and proposals, such as basement flooding and urban flash flooding. The position is funded initially for one year and housed within the Department of Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Pittsburgh, working with Dr. Dan Bain, collaborators, and Dr. John Gardner. The position may be extended pending funding and performance. Start date is as soon as practicable, preferably by 9/1/2025.

Required: A PhD in earth or environmental science
