Title: TRIO Learning Specialist, Executive Function Coach

Unit: Part-Time MCCC Professional Staff

Department: Student Affairs, Student Support Services, TRIO Program for Student Achievement (PSA)

Reports to: Director, TRIO Program for Student Achievement

Date: August 20, 2025

General Summary: The TRIO Program for Student Achievement at MCC is a federal grant-funded program serving 100 students with documented disabilities. The program offers academic, career, transfer, financial aid and personal advising in a fast-paced non-therapeutic setting to college students with documented disabilities. This is a part-time, 10-month position, working 15 hours per week when classes are in session.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing academic coaching and support with time management, organization, planning/prioritization, study strategies, test preparation, and other executive function skills that facilitate academic success
  • Providing academic support with course-based questions and assignments
  • Assisting students with use of educational/assistive technology including Blackboard LMS
  • Informal assessment of academic skills
  • Development and implementation of resources and materials to support student individual learning needs.
  • Consistent documentation of sessions in the Student Access Database
  • Attendance and participation in staff meetings and trainings


Job Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Education, Student Development, Counseling, or Special Education required. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered and may be substituted for the required degree.
  • Previous experience providing executive function coaching in a college setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in supporting students with learning differences
  • Sensitivity to students' intersecting identities and needs
  • Knowledge of theoretical information on student development and working with students with documented disabilities
  • Understanding of FERPA, ADA law, and other laws/regulations that pertain to working with college students is expected.
  • The ability to responsibly handle confidential/sensitive information is critical.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training or certification as an executive function coach


Additional Information:

This position is supported through federal grant funding. While the college is fully committed to the success of this program, continued employment in this role is contingent upon ongoing grant funding. Should federal funding change in the future, the position may be impacted.

Salary Range: $35.31 per hour in accordance with the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement Part-Time Salary Grid.

Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed

Hours: 15 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire

Expected Start Date: October 2025
