Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste; radiation; burns; cuts/punctures; blood-borne or airborne pathogens; and recombinant DNA or viral vectors.
Shift
Monday -Thursday, 9:00 pm – 7:30 am, with some weekend calls and holiday responsibilities
Job Summary
The Central Sterile Supervisor/UKHC is primarily responsible for facilitating the delivery of patient care through preparing, planning, and providing instrumentation to preoperative services. Responsible for decontamination, correct assembly, and sterile processing of all instrumentation used in the operating rooms. Maintains cleanliness of department and materials management as needed. Must have thorough knowledge of regulatory standards for universal precautions, sterilization methodologies, and regulatory standards for biological monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of regulatory standards for universal precautions, sterilization methodologies, and regulatory standards for biological monitoring; operating room instrumentation; and aseptic techniques and sterilization principles, processing techniques, and instrument/equipment care
