Our Customer Finance Support Center has an immediate career opportunity for a qualified Advanced Duty Collection Analyst in our Advanced Duty Collections department, with DHL Express in North Houston, TX. This important role will be responsible for handling inbound calls, and also placing outbound calls to non-DHL customers to collect payment for shipments being held for duties and taxes.


The selected candidate will also review and resolve inquiries received from internal and external customers via phone or email, in a timely manner; including but not limited to Customs disputes, educate customers on U.S. Customs charges, and process payments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between internal and external customers
  • Liaise with DHL gateway clearance department to file disputes for shipments pending collections
  • Liaise with DHL Gateway Clearance Department to process RTO (return to origin), credit limit and credit deny process
  • Perform initial research to determine the accuracy and validity of disputes
  • Applies analytical skills to resolve complex problems independently
  • Create and/or update excel reports
  • Work under limited supervision, relies on experience, and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes
  • Other related duties as assigned


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of customer service and/or collections experience in a call center environment
  • Technical certification or Associate degree may be required in some areas
  • Performs the entire standard function, and some specialized, more complex aspects of the job role
  • Communicate effectively to various levels of management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Professional telephone demeanor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required
