The Role
Participate in the design and ensure the implementation of customs and trade compliance strategy to enable smooth clearance of freight documentation through relevant customs authorities. Work closely with customers to guide and advise on customs regulations, ensuring compliance in line with business strategy, objectives, corporate guidelines, and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement customs & trade compliance strategies.
  • Manage clearance activities to optimize cost, service, and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate declarations and obtain required permits/licenses.
  • Build strong relations with customs authorities and government bodies.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and drive process improvements.
  • Advise customers on compliance, sanctions, and trade restrictions.
  • Meet / ensure internal KPI s (Key performance Indicators) related to Customs product
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree or professional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in customs compliance within freight forwarding or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of Sri Lanka Customs regulations, port procedures, and trade compliance frameworks.
  • A Customs House Agent (CHA) license will be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of CW1 is preferred.
