Role Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Revenue Assurance, Manager of Revenue, Connectivity will be responsible for the Inflight Connectivity (IFC) Revenue accounting and reporting. They will be involved in the month, quarter and year-end close processes including but not limited to the analysis of IFC revenue, directly associated costs and reporting deliverables. They will have the opportunity to work with our Accounting and Finance counterparts to help ensure that all financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP and to provide accounting support, where needed. This role will also work closely with other internal Anuvu divisions, including Finance, Legal, Sales, Treasury, Supply Chain and Tax.

Key Responsibilities

• Write technical accounting memos and policies for revenue, leases, internally developed software, etc.

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day revenue accounting cycle, including allocation and prioritization of team while partnering closely with the Accounts Receivable, Finance and Sales teams

• Develop and maintain close relationships with external auditors, management, legal department, sales team and accounting department personnel

• Be subject matter expert while partnering with cross-functional teams to maximize revenue and ensure the accuracy of revenue reporting

• Assist overseeing Month End Close process encompassing review of staff journal entries; account reconciliations; month-end revenue and inventory accruals; preparation of client revenue analysis; inventory reconciliation, financial statements oversight and variance analysis

• Evaluate and apply revenue recognition principles in a complex revenue model that contemplates new product offerings, contract modifications, gross vs. net considerations, variable consideration, SSP pricing, and other technical topics as needed in compliance with US GAAP and Anuvu Accounting Policy

• Review new and modified customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606

• Coach, mentor, train and manage team members

• Prepare the Revenue and Cost of Sales monthly analysis report for management review

• Assist with special projects and research projects assigned by Director of Revenue and perform other tasks as needed.

• Assist with the Revenue team’s Sarbanes Oxley compliance, including assisting with design and implementation of SOX controls, periodic review and testing procedures, walkthroughs of each in-scope process, and other miscellaneous projects as directed by auditors and management requests

• Assist in various projects including ad hoc analysis and system implementations, participating in and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of revenue-related functionality in various automation projects

• Assist with identifying areas for process improvement that are scalable: to increase productivity; increase efficiency and reduce costs

• Assist in Year End audit preparation and completion; including Financial Statement preparation and managing Financial Statement Disclosures process

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

• CPA preferred, MBA is a plus

• 6 + years of revenue accounting experience, public accounting experience desirable

• Strong technical accounting experience

• Experience with SSP Model development and Inventory Accounting

• Solid foundation in GAAP and ASC 606, with knowledge of revenue recognition and its concepts (e.g. Contract Assets, Cost to Obtain, Cost to Fulfill, Deferred Revenue, Unbilled, Inventory and Audit Findings)

• Ability to interpret complex contractual agreements to determine the proper accounting treatment or disclosure consequences

• Strong relationship building skills and a highly professional “client service orientation” is critical

• Experience in Media, Broadband, Telecommunications or Equipment Industries highly preferred

• Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy & integrity

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills

• Previous experience with major accounting software experience such as Oracle, Salesforce, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics SL, MS Dynamics GP, Citrix, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.

• Intermediate to advance Excel skills, including V-lookups, pivot tables and if statements required
