SUMMARY:
Under general direction, leads the design of complex software quality assurance systems and processes. Provide technical direction and guidance for test automation and quality assurance practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in defining the testing automation priorities.
Design, develop and administer test automations systems to meet the needs of the enterprise.
Provide expert guidance to staff in the use of test automation technology and in the development of test scenarios and strategies.
Develop standardized techniques and practices to perform load, performance, and stress testing using test automation technology.
Lead teams to establish new enterprise wide quality assurance processes. Assist BTS leadership to standardize software development lifecycles to ensure understanding of the value of testing in the delivery lifecycle.
Collaborate with team to analyze development and deployment processes, and integrate test and deployment automation.
Responsible for the recommendation and implementation of changes to quality systems and processes agreed upon by leadership and introducing new and innovative quality practices to the organization.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to develop complex quality assurance test plans
In depth knowledge of test automation technologies and techniques
In depth knowledge of software delivery lifecycles for software development and commercial implementations with customizations
In depth knowledge of system testing for IT infrastructure
In depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies such as ITIL and CMMI
Ability to apply software quality assurance principles and practices to enterprise information technology systems and initiatives
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
Demonstrated organizational change management skills
Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with various individuals and groups
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor¿s degree with five to seven years of experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
Master's degree is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
QAI-CSTE or ASQ-CQE and PMP
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Advanced communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Demonstrated ability to prepare and lead presentations to all levels within the company in order to educate, influence, and contribute to strategic technical decisions
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem solving skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts. Ability to quickly learn the intricacies of the energy and utilities industry and apply them to applicable strategies and designs.
DECISION MAKING:
Makes decisions regarding establishment and communication of department standards. Makes decisions regarding auditing and enforcing communicated standards and policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Regularly required to sit, talk and listen for long periods of time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. May be required to work significant amounts of overtime. Some travel is required.
