Responsibilities- Responsible for the design, analysis, testing and troubleshooting of electronic assembles integrated in safety products used by first responders and industrial workers
- Incorporate electronic designs with software, mechanical, test and manufacturing capabilities in order to ensure successful products are delivered on time while meeting agreed upon product performance specifications.
- Participate on cross-functional project teams in the development of new MSA products.
- Work with customers, both internal and external, to determine product design requirements.
- PCBA design with preferred experience in gas detection, analog circuit design, and programmable logic devices.
- Perform design work including embedded systems, digital and analog circuitry, power supplies and connectivity interface.
- Plan, prioritize, and complete engineering investigations on existing products, including resolving component obsolescence issues, investigate and provide data-backed decisions on non-conforming components and providing assistance with customer product inquiries
- Provide concise technical reports to support investigations and technical judgments
- Develop & execute test plans to evaluate products/components
- Participate in design reviews for new products
QualificationsSpecial Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation). Able to effectively communicate technical information to audiences of all levels, including management and external stakeholders
- Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to perform complex tasks/assignments with limited supervision
- Detail oriented, organized, with demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment with multiple teams and challenging schedules
- Proven expertise in circuit design, component selection and PCB physical construction for EMC compliant electronic circuits.
- Design experience with low power electronics for agency compliance for hazardous environments.
- Working knowledge of statistics.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated customer centric approach.
- Minimal travel required (less than 10%).

Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
- Proficient in the use of Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design
- Use of statistical tools (Mini Tab) and risk analysis (i.e. DFSS, FMEA)
- Experience designing electronics for hazardous environments using various protective measures such as intrinsically safe design concept

Education and Experience Required:
Â
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Â
This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:
Â
o  Staff I Engineer: 0-1 years relevant experience
o  Staff II Engineer: 2-3 years relevant experience
o  Staff III Engineer: 4 years relevant experience
o   MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience
o   PhD may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience
