SUMMARY
The Business Analyst role is responsible for the creation and presentation of business/functional requirements for various departments within the company. Translating complex financial data into concise visual reports that effectively inform and guide decision-making. Creating training documentation and providing production support for newly delivered functionality. Assisting in testing and the implementation of various technology solutions; assisting in tracking benefits of these solutions and functioning as a liaison between IS and various departments.
Location: Smyrna, GA (near Truist Park)
Work Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain continuous contact with internal and/or external customers to remain current on their business needs
- Document business processes and procedures to create, maintain and present business requirements, project scope, process flow diagrams, test plans and other SDLC project related documents
- Identify dependencies and gaps across systems and teams, ensuring cohesive implementation of business requirements
- Work with the corporate IT staff to better understand the role IT can play in addressing these functional requirements
- Assist the corporate IT staff in selecting the right technology to match the functional requirements
- Assist in determining the best approach for tracking financial benefits associated with IT projects
- Serve as liaison between the customer group and the corporate IT staff to facilitate an effective working partnership
- Assist in business process reengineering efforts associated with the implementation of projects
- Provide clarity and ongoing support throughout development cycles, from concept to deployment
- Support QA and UAT efforts, which include but are not limited to clarifying expected behavior and evaluating test results
- Assist with production support for multiple applications
- Perform selective project management and coordination of tasks on IT projects
- Proactively identify issues, risks, and opportunities for process improvement

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Technical Core
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on financial analysis
- Experience with creating, maintaining and presenting documentation for business requirements across multiple departments. This would include functional and technical flow diagrams and charts
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools
- Experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data evaluation and solution implementation.
- Strong use of SQL to gather data from multiple databases for analysis and reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
- Experience with Word, Power Point and Visio
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience executing test plans and other SDLC project-related documents
- Experience with relational database development process
- Experience with APIs, data models, and system integration is a plus

Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, margins

- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make sound business process decisions
- Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in financial analysis or accounting systems and/or business process analysis and implementing technical solutions
- Knowledge of and aptitude for computers, computer systems and database layouts
- Experience with SDLC in a technology project environment
- Experience with wholesale distribution or logistics industries is a plus
- Experience working within a financial application. PeopleSoft is a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Professional certifications are a plus but not required.
