Position Summary:

ANSER is seeking a Law Enforcement Analyst to provide high-level staff support to senior Department of Defense (DoD) leadership supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense Integration and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DASD HDI/DSCA).  In this role you will shape policy, conducti risk assessments, and coordinate with interagency partners to ensure readiness for domestic response and law enforcement support missions.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of policies governing DoD support to civilian law enforcement agencies, including participation in National Security Special Events (NSSEs).
  • Draft concise, policy-driven memoranda for senior DoD officials regarding homeland defense and DSCA strategies.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments related to DoD force structure and operational plans supporting domestic missions.
  • Advance DoD policy objectives through participation in planning, budgeting, capability assessments, and acquisition processes.
  • Support alignment of DoD roles with U.S. Government strategies on homeland defense, domestic incident management, and homeland security.
  • Provide expert analysis on legislative authorities, funding mechanisms, and interagency coordination in support of senior DoD engagements.
  • Assist in the development of U.S. Government regulations, DoD directives, interagency guidance, and international agreements related to homeland defense and domestic response.
  • Develop and coordinate policies and interagency strategies for prevention and response to domestic incidents, including those involving Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats, natural disasters, and law enforcement support.
  • Prepare DoD leaders for participation in national-level and DoD exercises related to domestic crisis response and homeland defense.
  • Provide surge support during national catastrophic events, serving as liaison across interagency and DoD components.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years of relevant experience in DOD policy and DOD directives.
  • Bachelors degree in national security, law enforcement or intelligence policy.
  • Strong understanding of DoD policy supporting civilian law enforcement operations and NSSEs.
  • Active TS/SCI Eligible clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in DOD policy and DOD directives.
  • Masters degree in national security, law enforcement or intelligence policy.
