Position Description
Job Purpose


To assist in the implementation of the Lyles Construction Group’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Specifically, ensures safe and healthy working conditions through inspections, reports, recommendations, and training to promote safety consciousness and support our Zero Incident Safety Culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Develop and Maintain SAFETY Compliance and Knowledge

  1. Develop current knowledge of Safety Laws and Regulations
  2. Stay informed of new developments in the Safety field
  3. Develop a working knowledge of Safety information databases and searchable resources
  4. Work on construction projects or in the office to assist with the day-to-day activities associated with safety and loss control
  5. Participate in training at safety meetings, toolbox meetings and safety orientations
  6. Work directly with a mentor while finding solutions to real world problems
  7. Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the construction industry

Learning and Development

  1. Cultivate interpersonal skills
  2. Foster time management skills

SAFETY Administration

  1. Assist with new hire onboarding and safety orientation process.
  2. Assist with safety training, development of training materials, programs, and presentations.
  3. Assist with various safety inspections, safety observations, and safety reports
  4. Assist in maintaining safety records, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), training records, toolbox meetings, maintenance of OSHA logs, maintenance of SDSs and chemical inventory, incident investigations and metrics
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of safety related programs to meet or exceed company safety standards

Required Education and Experience

  1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field of study.
