We are pleased to announce the opening for a Model-Based Systems Engineer who will join our Systems Engineering & Analyses team in Huntsville, AL and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will provide support to the Missile Defense Agency Chief Engineer's office and more specifically the Director for Digital Engineering. You will be part of a team known for advancing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and delivering innovative modeling solutions that transform how complex systems are designed and integrated.
Responsibilities:
You’ll be applying systems engineering principles and MBSE practices to develop, analyze, and manage system models using SysML. You will work with CAMEO Systems Modeler and related toolsets to design, document, and validate system architectures. Your work will help reduce reliance on traditional document-based processes and enable more effective collaboration, traceability, and lifecycle management across engineering disciplines. You will support the development of MDA's Government Reference Architecture (GRA) which will model the Agency, its organizational relationships, processes, and products and seek improvements to work efficiency and reduction of duplications of effort.
Basic Qualifications:
You must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A STEM degree is preferred.
You will need at least 5 years of professional experience, with no less than 1 year specifically modeling with SysML.
You must possess or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance.
You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.
Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with direct MBSE experience strongly preferred.
OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certifications, including:
Model User
Model Builder – Fundamental
Model Builder – Intermediate
Model Builder – Advanced
Familiarity and hands-on experience with CAMEO Systems Modeler.
Equivalent vendor-specific or academic certifications aligned with SysML standards.
Strong ability to apply MBSE principles to real-world system design and integration challenges.
Demonstrated capability in requirements development, traceability, and system lifecycle management within an MBSE framework.
Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine system architectures.
