DLAR HR Coordinator
The DLAR Human Resources Coordinator serves as a pivotal resource within the organization, supporting both staff and faculty with a broad range of human resources services. Responsibilities include:
• Recruitment Management: Oversee full-cycle recruitment for staff positions, including the generation and tracking of requisitions, coordination and submittal of job offers, initiating background checks and collaborating with appropriate third-party vendors as required, and assist with onboarding activities.
• Maintain detailed records of recruitment activities, reporting regularly on progress and outcomes.
• Manage faculty recruitment processes, and track and process faculty reappointments, maintaining accurate records and complying with University guidelines.
• Conduct payroll activities, ensure accurate and timely payment of wages and salaries, resolving payroll discrepancies with urgency and professionalism.
• Employee Records Management: Process and maintain comprehensive employee records, including but not limited to leaves of absence, promotions, terminations, transfers, and other employment actions.
• Respond to inquiries related to medical leaves, work-related injuries, and other employment matters, drawing upon knowledge of University and regulatory requirements, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
• Offer consultative support to managers, faculty, and staff, helping to resolve HR challenges and foster a positive workplace environment.
• Oversee the annual appraisal process, ensuring timely completion of performance evaluations, providing guidance and support to managers.
• Participate in the raise process, documentation, and communication to employees, ensuring compliance with University policies and budgetary guidelines.
The successful candidate: must demonstrate strong problem solving skills through effective analysis and evaluation, and involvement of appropriate University liaisons; must communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically with DLAR staff, University representatives, and external partners; demonstrate ability to use a variety of software applications and Microsoft Office Suite; demonstrate excellent attention to detail; and must uphold the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality in all HR dealings.
Provides advice and guidance on all phases of human resources, serves as a consultant to people managers and unit leadership, and manages recruitment strategy and coordinates the interview process. Facilitates trainings, provides strategic planning and budgeting guidance, and performs complex data analysis for senior management.
The employee must be able to:
• read, understand, and follow DLAR and University policies.
• follow written and verbal instructions.
• communicate verbally in English, and accurately document written information in English, in a timely manner, including written and electronic formats.
• analyze data and perform mathematical calculations.
• manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• occasionally be physically on campus, as assigned.
Position is primarily sedentary. Ability to work at computer station for extended periods of time is required. Fine motor skills are needed to manage paper and electronic materials.
