EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship or vocational training program.
• 3-5 years’ experience in welding
• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) preferred.
• Strong understanding of codes and standards (ASME and API)

SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Ability to set up and operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, arc, and oxyacetylene torches
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with other trades
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, including the use of protective gear

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Some climbing and balancing.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
• Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing.
• High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
• Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
• Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This is an Onsite position that requires work to be performed onsite at an Aleut location.
• This role requires work in office setting and in non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations.
• Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
• Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Requires wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
• Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
• May be required to pass a welding test.
• Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
• Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
• Must be proficient with the English Language per contract.
