Job Summary
The Nurse Clinical Ambulatory provides disease specific patient care to a group of patients who have serious acute and/or chronic health events or who are seeking healthcare to maintain their state of wellness. Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to skilled assessments, care plans and care plan implementation, patient education and clinical evaluation or interventions.
Ensures appropriate prenatal records are available prior to telemedicine appointment (prenatal labs, NIPT, antibody titers, etc.) Obtains/reviews blood glucose logs for diabetic patients with CGM prior to telemedicine appt. Schedules deliveries and procedures for MFM patients seen at telemedicine locations and requiring delivery at UK (Induction of labor, C-section, Cerclage, D&C/D&E, ECV, Antepartum admits). Schedule fetal echo for the following patients seen in telemedicine (Diabetics, Family hx. of CHD, Autoimmune disorders associated with congenital heart block). Assist in coordinating referrals to other subspecialties (OB anesthesia, Cardiology, Neurology, Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center-Dr. Playforth, etc). Work with inpatient staff to assist in scheduling outpatient follow up in telemedicine when needed.
This position requires working with medical professionals who are working under time and efficiency constraints in a busy ambulatory care setting with a patient centered care focus on quality, safety, and service. A working knowledge of enterprise, nursing, departmental policies, protocols, and procedures is needed to be successful.
This position will have a remote aspect to it, and some travel will be needed.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Basic computer knowledge, MS Windows, Word, Outlook. Will need experience in OBGYN, preferably MFM.
