Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to or over 50lbs; sitting for extended periods of time and performing tasks with intermittent repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing and/or walking with objects weighing up to 25lbs; occasional exposure to loud noises and/or extreme temperatures; and some job-related travel (less than 10% of time).
Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required in order to meet job and departmental business needs. This position is on-site.
Job Summary
The successful Field Service Technician/UKHC will perform entry level tasks in support of the end user computing environment for UK Healthcare. Primary duties include tasks such as installing hardware and applications, performing rounds to proactively identify problems, and basic project task work. Microsoft MTA: IT Infrastructure or CompTIA A+ certifications are required within one year of hire date.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support; MacOS experience; troubleshooting experience on various computing devices including workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, telephones, etc.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
The ideal candidate will have Associate degree and specialized/technical experience such as drafting; reading and understanding electrical schematics and technical manuals; and computer operations highly preferred.
