Security Specialist - Personnel & Physical Security - Military veterans preferred

The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Security Specialist to provide comprehensive personnel and physical security support to the 5th Air Force Special Security Office (SSO) at Yokota Air Base, Japan. This role ensures the protection of sensitive information, personnel, and facilities across the Japanese theater, supporting SCI access control, policy development, and compliance oversight. You will process TS//SCI visit access requests, verify clearances, and perform SCI indoctrinations for eligible personnel. You will coordinate with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency Consolidated Adjudications Services (DCSA CAS) to manage SCI eligibility and address derogatory information discovered during investigations or reporting. This is a critical opportunity to support the Air Force’s strategic mission in the Indo-Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer the 5 AF SCI Personnel and Physical Security Programs
• Conduct SCI indoctrinations and manage access control for 5 AF SCI personnel and SCIFs
• Monitor DISS/Scattered Castles for clearance verification and derogatory information
• Coordinate escorts and perform regular audits and inspections of SCI facilities
• Develop and review SCIF documentation (e.g., FFC, TEMPEST, CSP, MSP)
• Process TS//SCI visit requests and liaise with DCSA CAS for eligibility and adjudication
• Provide training and updates to 5 AF subordinate unit SSOs across Japan
• Support Program Compliance Review (PCR) inspections and readiness assessments

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS//SCI clearance on day one
• At least 8 years total experience in security.
• 5+ years of DoD security experience in military environments
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent relative certifications.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and DoD clearance systems (DISS, Scattered Castles)
• Knowledge of ICD 704, ICD 705, and DoDM 5105.21 Vols 2 & 3
• Experience with DIA SCIF authorization processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a security-related field
• SPeD Security Fundamentals Certification
• ICD 705 Site Security Manager (SSM) Certification
• Security Asset Protection Professional Certification
• PMP Certification
