Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Apple Engineer to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. The Senior Apple Engineer provides Apple device and infrastructure critical skills to operate, manage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues and maintain a secure macOS operating system on classified and unclassified networks. A thorough understanding of macOS, Jamf Pro, Active Directory, Trellix, STIGs, IAVMs, Shell/Bash, TCP/IP, and Apple Business Manager is essential. The Senior Apple engineer will also be expected to provide documentation and knowledge transfer of the Apple Enterprise solutions to all Client Services stakeholders. This position may also support some system and server administration and desktop services as part of a larger team.

CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT: Must possess an active DoD Secret or above. (US Citizenship required)

This position requires 2-3 days of onsite work per week in Fort Meade, MD, with additional onsite days possible based on mission requirement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing Apple Enterprise solutions, topologies, and services to ensure efficiency, security, and reliability of current macOS operations

  • Leading teams to support effective customer service

  • Analyzing Apple systems topologies and making recommendations on best practices to maximize uptime and increase operational efficiency

  • Configuring and implementing system diagnostic and maintenance tools using customized Shell/Bash scripting and policy implementation via JAMF Pro management console

  • Remotely administers the configuration and maintenance of operating systems, software, and end-user applications

  • Planning and arranging scheduled upgrades

  • Implementing government configuration baselines and DoD STIGs

  • Vulnerability mitigation and patching

  • Perform analysis of new hardware, operating systems, and software to mitigate vulnerabilities with existing policies and processes prior to implementation

  • Reviews processes to determine suitability for system updates

  • Leading and training junior engineers

  • Acts as liaison between engineers and service desk, providing point of escalation for assessing needs of customers and developing services and processes to support

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and 5+ years of related experience.  Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • JAMF certification or other related certifications strongly encouraged

  • 5+ years JAMF experience

  • Security+ CE (or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Documenting topologies, conceptual system diagrams (DoDframework), and SOPs to support the growing macOS environment

  • Ability to communicate

  • Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations

  • Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Writing effective procedural guidance

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP and knowledge of the 802.11 wireless internet standards

  • Proficiency in JAMF Pro, macOS, Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365

  • Certifications relating to Apple Mac Technician, JAMF Technician strongly encouraged

  • Must possess an active DoD Secret or above. (US Citizenship required) Should the contract requirements change you may be asked to obtain and maintain a security clearance and undergo an investigation for eligibility to access classified information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow experience a plus

  • Relevant certifications, such as:

* JAMF Pro Expert

* Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

* AZ-104 - Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate

* SC-900 - Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
