Description:

Texas Biomedical Research Institute in San Antonio, TX, is searching for an enthusiastic, organized, and skilled full-time Research Assistant.


The Role:

  • Performs scientific research tasks.
  • Sets up and operates equipment as required by research tasks.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates research activities.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques.
  • Participates in quality control activities as required
  • Prepares project reports, data summaries or other study related documents.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques.
  • Generates, records and compiles research data adhering to institutional quality standards
  • Function as part of a Team contributing to lab activities as required
  • Perform studies at BSL3 and BSL4 biocontainment laboratories.

Our Ideal Candidate:

· Requires Bachelor's Degree with major course work relevant to field of assignment with at least two years of relevant experience.

· Experience in handling a range of infectious agents (at BSL-4, BSL-3 and BSL-2) and in a variety of different animal models preferred.

· Experience in, in-vitro and ex-vivo cell-based assays, including cell culture, plaque assays, ELISA, & RT-PCR desired
