Leidos, a Fortune 500 federal contractor with over $15B in annual revenue, is looking for top Finance and Business majors to join our organization through job openings as Finance and Business Operations (F&BO) interns in the Washington D.C Metro area (includes Maryland and Virginia areas). Leidos’ F&BO Summer Internship Program gives interns the opportunity to generate meaningful analysis that has a tangible impact across different aspects of the business. As an intern with the F&BO, you will be assigned to a position with varying responsibilities and scope that will challenge you, promoting professional and personal growth both in your studies as well as your future career.
Responsibilities may include:
Leveraging new technology to bring efficiencies in the areas of business analytics and data visualization
Translating complex data findings into actionable business recommendations by using AI methods such as machine learning, robotic process automation (RPA) and generative AI to analyze data, financial trends or customer behavior
Developing and implementing AI methods into operable business solutions
Preparing and coordinating financial information for presentations and statuses to program and functional area management through the utilization of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) tools and other related software
The Leidos F&BO Summer Internship Program includes:
Two full days of hands-on training at Corporate HQ
Group projects that culminate in a final presentation to the Executive Leadership Team during the “Purple Olympics”
Lunch & Learn sessions featuring speakers from across the corporation, Finance Executive Panel events, and networking & social events
Formal “Intern Buddy” to assist with mentorship & role guidance
Ideal Candidates should display the following:
Interest in Finance & Business Operations
Interest in AI, automation, and digital transformation
Experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools for data analysis
Energetic and enthusiastic behavior
Eagerness to show initiative and solve problems
Commitment to strengthening and sustaining an inclusive workplace
Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
Job assignment may be in:
Program Financial Control
Financial Planning and Analysis
Enterprise System Transformation

Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or other related field from an accredited college/university (preference given to Rising Seniors/Grad Students, Rising Juniors with exceptional qualifications considered)
Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (please note this on your resume when submitting your application)
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrated capacity to use data driven insights and AI tools to improve decision making and financial performance
Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI)
Ability to be accountable and professional while maintaining effective interpersonal (written, verbal and presentation) skills while managing multiple priorities and tasks
Ability to participate in-person at formal Internship events and activities. Internship positions will be located in the Washington D.C Metro Area including Northern Virginia cities such as Reston and Chantilly as well as some Maryland cities such as Gaithersburg and Columbia. All the program activities will take place at GHQ Corporate.
