Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a full time Firefighting Systems Technician in San Diego, CA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide troubleshooting, repair, assessment, and testing of U.S. Navy ships’ systems: Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF), CO2, Halon and Heptafluoropropane (HFP) systems, Aqueous Potassium Carbonate (APC), Countermeasure Washdown (CMWD), Motor Gasoline (MOGAS), Fire, Main Drainage and Flushing Pumps and valves, Temporary Fire-Main Protection System, pumps and valves, Flame and Smoke ejection system, Water mist, saltwater sprinklers, Fire-main system piping, Review Shipboard Temporary Fire Protection Plan by accomplishing friction and elevation loss calculations to determine the location of the most hydraulically remote station.
Provide On-Site (OS) and Distance Support (DS) technical assistance for ship HM&E related equipment casualties and repairs.
Complete assessment or Technical Assist, and provide repair recommendations to the branch head in a Report or TAVR format as required for review and issuance on the equipment.
Conduct ship visits to provide technical guidance for repairs, troubleshooting or testing as requested for urgent or routine requests.
Review the adequacy of the onboard ILS, PMS, PQS and validate the current equipment configuration.
Conduct on-the-job training for Ships Force Maintenance personnel. The training must include adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting techniques and equipment/personnel safety.
Communicate with and conduct a debrief of cognizant Ships Force personnel reporting conditions found, repairs completed and/or required and training conducted with current operational condition. Any unresolved conditions must be briefed to the ship’s Commanding Officer and Chief Engineer with corrections required.

Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Four (4) years’ experience with maintaining and repairing U.S. Navy firefighting systems
Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Pay Range
The pay range for this role is $32.30 – $38.00 per hour hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
ADA Notations:
Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight
Ability to work in office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, and shipboard locations.
Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud, hearing protection may be required at times.
May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
