Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a full time Firefighting Systems Technician in San Diego, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide troubleshooting, repair, assessment, and testing of U.S. Navy ships’ systems: Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF), CO2, Halon and Heptafluoropropane (HFP) systems, Aqueous Potassium Carbonate (APC), Countermeasure Washdown (CMWD), Motor Gasoline (MOGAS), Fire, Main Drainage and Flushing Pumps and valves, Temporary Fire-Main Protection System, pumps and valves, Flame and Smoke ejection system, Water mist, saltwater sprinklers, Fire-main system piping, Review Shipboard Temporary Fire Protection Plan by accomplishing friction and elevation loss calculations to determine the location of the most hydraulically remote station.

• Provide On-Site (OS) and Distance Support (DS) technical assistance for ship HM&E related equipment casualties and repairs.

• Complete assessment or Technical Assist, and provide repair recommendations to the branch head in a Report or TAVR format as required for review and issuance on the equipment.

• Conduct ship visits to provide technical guidance for repairs, troubleshooting or testing as requested for urgent or routine requests.

• Review the adequacy of the onboard ILS, PMS, PQS and validate the current equipment configuration.

• Conduct on-the-job training for Ships Force Maintenance personnel. The training must include adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting techniques and equipment/personnel safety.

• Communicate with and conduct a debrief of cognizant Ships Force personnel reporting conditions found, repairs completed and/or required and training conducted with current operational condition. Any unresolved conditions must be briefed to the ship’s Commanding Officer and Chief Engineer with corrections required.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Four (4) years’ experience with maintaining and repairing U.S. Navy firefighting systems

• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Pay Range

The pay range for this role is $32.30 – $38.00 per hour hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

ADA Notations:

• Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise

• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight

• Ability to work in office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, and shipboard locations.

• Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud, hearing protection may be required at times.

• May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
