Responsibilities

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for reviewing of timesheets, timely and accurate processing of payroll, understanding and ensuring compliance with payroll tax laws and maintenance of employee records within the accounting system.

  • Ensure timely and accurate biweekly payroll input, output and delivery
  • Review and approve timesheets for compliance with policy and for input to payroll process
  • Manage payroll imports, including pay data additions and changes
  • Identify and report on errors, inconsistencies and problems; work with management and HR to resolve issues
  • Responsible for leave of absence payments, retroactive payments, bonuses and other payment types
  • Process garnishments and/or deductions
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, 1099, etc.)
  • Assist in documentation of payroll processes, procedures and internal controls
  • Set up and maintain employee-related records in the accounting system
  • Data entry as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality in the handling of employee-related records


Qualifications



  • Must have experience with Multi-State processesing
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CCP) is preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of payroll experience preferred
  • Knowledge of UltiPro payroll and BST a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task and build business partnerships with corporate departments
  • Strong proficiency with Excel is a must
  • Highly organized and be able to prioritize
  • High level of accuracy and be detail-oriented
