Research Technician
The position of Research Technician is a specialized job that requires a candidate that can be trained to be proficient in several important laboratory techniques including, but not limited to, sterile technique, cellular immunology assays (including flow cytometry), single plex IHC staining paired with multispectral imaging, and mouse modeling and handling. The Research Technician will be required to perform highly complex testing and analysis on a regular basis. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented to perform the following daily tasks:
Handling and processing human specimens. Staining and analyzing human tissue sections by single plex and multispectral imaging. Perform in vitro assays for mouse and human studies. Perform in vivo murine experiments. Maintaining laboratory records. Keeping an inventory of supplies for their project.
In addition, the individual should possess problem solving skills and initiative to work with the variety of investigators and perform the following: Meeting with other individuals in the lab to synergize and synthesize results and to troubleshoot problem areas, Train new undergraduate students that enter the lab.
This individual will be expected to evolve as projects evolve and data are analyzed. Further, the individual will be expected to work as part of team in the Bruno lab.
Due to the translational nature of the research projects, flexibility with hours would be ideal, however, not required.
Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer. Ability to use scientific equipment that may include small parts.
