VETS, Inc., is looking to add an IT/System Security Technician to our growing team at Hill AFB. This is a full time, permanent position with full benefits. Due to security requirements, this position requires US Citizenship and a current/active DoD Secret clearance and Security + (DoD 8570 equivalent) certification.
The IT/System Security Tech will work onsite at Hill AFB/UTTR providing day to day technical support:
  • Provide system administration and information assurance support
  • Maintain hardware and software security control management for continued compliance of security and protection plans
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
  • Assist in upgrading and configuring system hardware/software per project or operational needs as required
  • conduct Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans;
  • Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • System topology design
In addition, the IT/System Security Tech will provide:
  • Analysis and implementation of security controls according to assessment guidance, procedures, and templates
  • Uniform implementation of RMF based assessment process.
  • Assist with development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for stand-alone and mission system. Provide artifacts for certification and accreditation packages and provide recommendations for improvements to support successful conduct of security categorization, control assessments, final risk analysis
Duty hours:
  • Normal duty hours for Hill AFB are Monday through Friday (0700 – 1600). A 5-4-9 work schedule is preferred. Nine hours a day Monday – Thursday with eight hours performed every other Friday for a total of 80 hours per pay period.

Requirements:

  • minimum of 6 years related experience working directly with Information Systems. Experience should be in PC and Networking support at the System Administrator level
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II (Security +)
