Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions within our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency through automation, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and implement automated systems and equipment for manufacturing processes
Support Manufacturing Engineering team members with continuous improvement projects focused on automation and increasing efficiency
Determine tools and technology needed to achieve automation goals according to product and process requirements and business needs
Perform PLC programming or automation programming to implement solutions
Support manufacturing operations, including the training of production operators regarding new equipment/processes
Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, maintenance, quality) to develop, install, qualify, validate, and maintain new and existing automation processes
Create and maintain technical documentation such as circuit diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance instructions
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or automation environment
Knowledge of object-oriented programming
Knowledge of PLC/HMI programming, robotics, and industrial automation systems
Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and similar embedded devices
Familiarity with fundamental electrical and electronic components, including sensors and actuators
Knowledge of installing, and troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems (e.g., cylinders, valves)
Ability to take initiative and work proactively on independent and team projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to be onsite 5 days a week
Ability to move about the Production floor frequently and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
Ability to use hands to operate tools, install, adjust and attach parts
Understanding of and experience working with machines & mechanical systems
Ability to lift 65 lbs.
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Visual acuity for tasks that require attention to detail, such as operating machinery or performing quality control
Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other process improvement methodologies (preferred)
COMPUTER SKILLS
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or similar)
Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and IIoT concepts (preferred)

Salary Range: $66,732-$97,336
