What You Will Do

The Transfer Admission Coordinator - Southern Illinois Regional position will be based in southern Illinois and manage all aspects of recruiting prospective transfer students to SIUE as well as build strong relationships with community colleges. This position will inform prospective students, their families, and community college staff as well as faculty of the educational opportunities available at SIUE. This position will represent SIUE at community college visits and transfer events; provide consistent updates to relevant community college staff and faculty on transfer opportunities; conduct unofficial transcript evaluations to confirm how credits transfer and apply to the student's anticipated program of study; develop a transfer plan that recommends transferable coursework and calculate GPA (if necessary) to confirm grades required for admission; assist students in determining cost of attendance once financial aid is applied; serve on transfer committees and groups both at SIUE and the state level.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and current driver's license. Passion for serving transfer students and developing relationships with community colleges. Excellent verbal and written communication, good organizational and computer skills, ability to communicate with individuals from varying backgrounds, demonstrated positive work ethic and problem solving skills. Must be able to work independently as well as have the initiative to develop effective, efficient, and innovative ideas that support/assist in achieving the goals of the office.

Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual. Experience in a college or university setting. Experience in college/university admissions.
