Position Description:

The billing professional is a skilled position that is responsible for full-cycle processing of customer billing, including electronically importing or manually entering billing tickets, and billing of materials and contracts. The candidate must be self-motivated, possess excellent data entry skills, strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and a passion for customer service. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Assistant Controller, initial training period will take place in the office with the potential ability to transition to hybrid work from home status following completion of training.


Essential Functions:


The following list is intended to be exemplary of the demands of the position, however it is not exhaustive of all day-to-day functions. The incumbent will be required to perform any or all the following in each day, week or season:


  1. Daily import from a variety of systems to record material sales tickets; manually entering material sales tickets
  2. Monthly entry of contract billing information based upon billing instructions
  3. Daily invoicing of sales.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service both internally and externally.
  5. Develop strong relationship within the division, including team members outside of the accounting department.
  6. Other duties as assigned


Position Requirements:
  1. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, AS in Accounting or higher education level is preferred.
  2. At least one year of experience within an accounting office is required.
  3. Basic knowledge of billing processes with the ability to identify and match a variety of billing documents.
  4. Candidate must have excellent speaking and writing skills and be proficient with Outlook, Word and Excel.
  5. Skilled in timely and accurate data entry of high-volume information.
  6. Experience in the New England Liquid Asphalt industry and/or familiarity with the New England Liquid Asphalt customer base is preferred.
  7. Experience with VISTA Construction Accounting Software or SAP Crystal Reports is preferred.
  8. Must be strongly skilled in organization, problem-solving, customer service, and multitasking while being committed to excellence.
  9. Strong commitment to continuous improvement and process efficiency.
  10. Proactive, with a strong sense of urgency to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  11. Analytical mindset to identify trends, investigate variances, and recommend improvements.
  12. Ability to follow detailed procedures while also proposing enhancements as needed.
  13. Must be able to pass a drug screen.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, talk, and listen. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds.
