You'll be working with early-career students, prioritizing those in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, and Civil Engineering, and supporting learners on Conditional Probation at the Wellsville campus. Your contributions will help shape their academic confidence, resilience, and long-term success.

What You'll Do

Academic Success Coaching & Advocacy

  • Support Mechanical & Electrical Engineering students with coaching that builds student autonomy, aids in goal-setting, and transforms academic behaviors into actionable strategies?mirroring best practices across higher education
  • Provide focused coaching for AOS program students on Conditional Probation, helping them regain stability through proactive, personalized support.

Math Tutoring & Learning Facilitation

  • Deliver individualized tutoring and structured learning sessions that align with math courses.
  • Collaborate with math faculty and department staff to tailor support, respond to student needs, and enhance the impact of interventions.

Holistic Academic Support

  • Meet with students one-on-one to explore effective learning strategies and refer them to campus resources- financial aid, health, counseling, and more- reflecting a holistic coaching approach
  • Serve as a bridge between students and faculty, facilitating proactive academic communication and progress monitoring.

Data-Driven Impact & Coordination

  • Collect, review, and report student progress and specific needs to the Assistant Director.
  • Leverage data to advocate for student-centered improvements and support program effectiveness


Job Requirements:

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong math proficiency or experience providing math support.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teaching or counseling experience in secondary or postsecondary environments, or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in higher education settings.
  • Background in tutoring, academic advising, or coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to support diverse student populations with empathy and adaptability.
