Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Superintendent to join our dynamic team. In this leadership role, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction operations on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to our high standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
2. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and effective communication and workflow.
3. Lead and mentor field personnel, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety.
4. Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting schedules and resources as necessary to meet deadlines.
5. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
6. Identify and mitigate potential issues or risks that may impact project timelines or budgets.
7. Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for construction operations.
8. Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and progress updates.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
2. 5+ years of experience in civil construction, with a proven track record as a Superintendent or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices, materials, and industry standards.
4. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
5. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle various projects simultaneously.
6. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
9. Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
10. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
11. Certification in safety programs (e.g., OSHA) is a plus.

Work Environment:

The position involves both office settings and active job sites. Candidates should be prepared to travel and work in various weather conditions and manage the physical demands of the role, which may include lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.

Physical Demands:

Candidates must possess the physical stamina and strength to perform essential functions, including lifting heavy materials, operating machinery, and navigating uneven terrain.
