JobSummary:
The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the development andimplementation of all electrical design requirements for the project. Thisperson is to be familiar with all power generation, distribution, protectionand related control systems as well as client provided specifications and allapplicable industry codes and standards. The Sr. Electrical Engineercoordinates with other disciplines to insure an integrated design meeting theproject requirements.
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
• Lead an electrical design team design indeveloping all electrical power generation, distribution, protection and/orrelated control systems for projects;
• Preparation and review of power/controlphilosophies and drawings;
• Preparation and review of electrical generation,distribution, rotating, communication and control equipment specifications anddatasheets;
• Preparation, analysis and review of electricalmodels using ETAP, EDSA or SKM
• Preparation and review of electrical systemcalculations;
• Preparation and review of construction drawingsdepicting equipment locations, wiring, tray layouts, supports, and lighting;
• Preparation and review project/clientspecifications and requirements; provide alternatives and recommendations asrequired;
• Preparation and review of layouts and plans forelectrical buildings and facilities;
• Preparation and review of AC and DC load listsfrom mechanical equipment lists and control systems;
• Preparation and review of DC and UPSdistribution systems;
• Preparation and review of electrical drawingsand construction packages;
• Preparation and review of Electrical AreaClassification drawings;
• Preparation and review of test and commissioningprocedures;
• Preparation and review of electrical fabricationand construction details;
• Provide support for the preparation of Pre-FEEDand FEED cost estimates;
• Provide engineering support to procurement ofequipment, skidded packages, and buildings;
• Support and assist field engineering teamsduring construction, test and commissioning;
• Test and commissioning of packages andelectrical systems.
Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Basicor Minimum Qualifications
• The candidate must have a BS degree inElectrical Engineering;
• For candidates with engineering degrees attainedoutside the U.S., the candidate must have attained an E.I.T. designation from aU.S. based state licensing board or [provide documentation that the educationalinstitution is ABET accredited;
• Ten (10) or more years demonstrated experiencedesigning and implementing electrical power generation and distribution systemsfor offshore oil and gas industry, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storageand transportation, chemical manufacturing, or refining required(commercial/industrial such as paper mill may be considered);
• Demonstrated experience working within projectcentered multi-discipline teams;
• Demonstrated experience preparing project costestimates;
• Demonstrated experience preparing specificationsfor procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of electricalgeneration, distribution, rotating, communication and control equipment such asgenerator sets, variable frequency drives, low voltage and medium voltage motorcontrol systems and switchgear, and integrated motor control center buildings,distributed control systems, PLC panels, etc.;
• Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate portionsof ANSI/NEMA/NFPA/API/UL/IEEE codes and standards;
• Demonstrated experience leading factoryacceptance testing of package equipment;
• Demonstrated experience providing engineeringsupport to construction, testing, commissioning and startup of electricalfacilities;
• Capability and availability to make offshore andclient site trips as well as other domestic travel as required.
PreferredQualifications
• P.E. license;
• Demonstrated knowledge of IEC standards andpractices a plus;
AdditionalApplication Requirement
To beconsidered, candidates residing outside of commuting distance to the office arerequired to provide a cover letter regarding their intentions to relocate tothe local area and that the candidate understands that there will be norelocation assistance provided. WorkingConditions:
• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private Office) but also requires occasionaltravel to off-site work locations;
• Field duties require outdoor work in aconstruction site type atmosphere;
• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;
• Working on a construction site or in plantand/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;
• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;
• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.
PhysicalRequirements (With or without Reasonable Accommodation):
• Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds;
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing orother communication capabilities which permits employee to communicateeffectively;
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
• Sufficient vision or other powers ofobservation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
• Sufficient manual dexterity which permit theemployee to perform routine office duties;
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexesto perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
