JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Screens accounts daily for statements according to departmental policy. Evaluating each individual account to validate the balance is due the patient before mailing. Entering a comment into each account through batches indicating the statement number sent. Unclear balance accounts are reviewed with the Supervisor.


Monitors patient contract agreements to ensure that accounts are not delinquent.

Monitors accounts for transfer to bad debt agencies according to departmental policy.


Monitors estate claims, bankruptcy, and legal claims according to departmental policy.


Screens accounts for charity applications and send appropriate information/documentation to patients.


Contacts patients to establish payment arrangements according to departmental policy.


Answers incoming telephone calls and responds to patient inquiries.


Documents all communication with patients and payors within the Information System.


Performs other related duties as assigned.


Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.


Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 


High School diploma or equivalent. Some type of secondary education preferred.

Monday - Friday, day shift.
