Reporting to Product Management, the Project Manager-1 is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing customer production orders as assigned, serving as the primary customer POC for requirements management and order status. The role will also lead site improvement projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This position involves coordinating project team efforts, managing communication with stakeholders, and ensuring successful project execution with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with sponsors, stakeholders, subject matter experts, functional area resources, and others to develop project scope, schedule, and budget information.
Plan, execute, organize, and monitor all aspects of multiple production orders and internal projects in parallel.
Create and maintain detailed implementation schedules with key milestone plans for assigned projects.
Identify project risks and issues and lead project teams to develop risk mitigation plans to ensure prompt resolution, keeping projects on track.
Collect project task information and run project meetings as needed.
Foster accountability with operations, engineers, and other cross-functional team members to ensure successful and on-time project deliveries.
Utilize industry standard project management tools on the orders and projects you manage.
Communicates orders and project status by preparing standard status reports, Line of Balances, and by participating in departmental and cross-functional project status update meetings.
Proactively escalate projects or orders that are in jeopardy of missing deadlines to Product Management and Operations Leadership to ensure sufficient time is allowed for additional allocation of resources and risk mitigation.
Work closely with cross functional departments, including Sales, Procurement, Production Planning, and Lab Manager to identify project tasks and ensure milestones are completed on time.
Prepare capital appropriations requisitions (PAR) and purchase requisitions for internal projects when needed.
Build and maintain a trusted, cooperative relationship with project team members and create an atmosphere of shared ownership of the success of the project: embrace the servant leader mindset and be a team player. Utilize emotional intelligence skill set to influence project team to meet project deadlines.
Enter pertinent project data, budgets, and schedules into the ITT Microsoft Project database and maintain through project completion.
Aggressively monitor critical path activities. Follow up with team members to ensure project stays on track. Work to resolve timing constraints if critical tasks are delayed.
Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status reports for management.
Qualifications
2 to 5 years of experience in customer management, order management, or cross-functional coordination within aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks or orders in parallel.
Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills with attention to detail.
Proven capability to thrive in fast-paced environments and collaborate effectively across teams
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to foster productive stakeholder engagement
Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and contributing effectively
Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with ability to become proficient n MS Project
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders, project teams, cross functional teams, and managers.
Facilitating meetings and driving consensus among stakeholders.
Ability to address and resolve issues during the planning phase to ensure smooth project execution.
The ability to travel periodically (up to 10%).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, or a related field
Aerospace/Defense industry experience.
