Job Summary/Basic Function:
- The position will primarily focus on the department’s webcasting, streaming, and social media content. Assist with writing, editing, design, and production of digital programs, graphics, videos, publications, and press releases. Serve as the primary communication contact for assigned programs and institutional initiatives. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Division as needed for alignment with institutional branding and messaging.
- The Assistant Director will play a role in the video production of the live sporting events, video highlights, and media day content. Generate content for the official athletics social media accounts in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Division on branding.
- The Assistant Director will help to update and maintain content on the website, which includes schedules, student-athlete and staff content, and historical records.
- The Assistant Director will help hire and supervise student employees during game day management and serve as the primary contact for them.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with campus partners in Marketing and Communications, Life and Career Design Institute, and external constituencies.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- The candidate must be able to work independently and have the ability to work evenings and weekends.

- Bachelor’s Degree required and 1-3 years in athletics communication or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master’s degree
- 2-5 years of athletics communication experience.

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.
The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $48,000 – $52,000.
